Tutorial 008 - Photo retouch

For the user of usual 2D graphics software it is almost impossible to insert one’s own Clip Art into a photo, either because of perspective and fusion problems. In this lesson we will show you how easy and fast it will be to solve all these problems with 3D GeniuX!

CREATE A NEW PROJECT 
   1.  Enter in the Project menu> New

   2. In the New Project window set 800x600 pixel resolution, click on “Load Image” and select in C:/Programs/3DGeniuX/Tutorials/008/ Foto.jpg

   3.  Click on “Create”

   NOTE: Lessons are located in the main folder where 3D GeniuX is installed, usually in C:/Programs/3DGeniuX/Tutorials
FARFALLA
    1.   Select from the “Model Libraries” rollout >Primitives>Plane

    2.   In the “Properties” window click on “Load Texture” and load C:/Programs/3DGeniuX/Tutorials/008/Butterfly.jpg

    3.   In the “Properties” window click on “Load texture transparency” and load C:/Programs/3DGeniuX/Tutorials/008/Butterfly_alfa.bmp

   4.   In the “Object Position” rollout insert the values as shown in the picture, or use the tools Move , Rotate e Scale to place the 3D Plane with the butterfly.
GONIOMETER
    1.   Select from the “Model Libraries” rollout >Primitives>Plane

    2.   In the “Properties” window click on “Load Texture” and load C:/Programs/3DGeniuX/Tutorials/008/ Protractor.jpg

    3.    In the “Properties” window click on “Load texture transparency” and load C:/Programs/3DGeniuX/Tutorials/008/ Protractor_alfa.bmp
Where the image of Texture Transparency is black, the 3D Plane is pierced; and where the colour has shades of grey there will be a partial transparency.

    4.   In the “Object Position” rollout insert the values as shown in the picture, or use the tools Move , Rotate e Scale to place the 3D Plane with the goniometer.
DRAW THE MASK
    1.    From the tools bar click on Enable mask and Visualise mask       
    2.    From the Mask rollout select “Brush dimension” and “Brush transparency” as shown in the picture. Click on Brush
and then paint on the photo. The parts that you are painting will appear in the foreground relative to the goniometero.
    3.    From the Mask rollout set “Brush dimension” and “Brush transparency” as shown in the picture and using a shade of grey a semi transparency effect will be obtained. The brush on the shaded area will get integrated with the object just created.
   4.    From tools bas click on “Visualise mask” and see the final effect.
GENIUS
    1.   Select from the “Model Libraries” rollout >Primitives>Plane

    2.   In the “Properties” window click on “Load Texture” and load C:/Programs/3DGeniuX/Tutorials/008/ logo.bmp

    3.   In the “Properties” window click on “Load Texture Transparency” and load C:/Programs/3DGeniuX/Tutorials/008/ logo_m.bmp

    4.   Use the tools Move , Rotate and Scale to set the 3D Plane with the genius drawing.
DRAW THE MASK
    1.    From the tools bar click on “Enable Mask” and "Zoom image"    up to 150% and use Move image  pto be able to work easily.
    2.    From the “Mask” rollout set the “brush Dimension” and “brush Transparency” as shown in the picture. Click on Brush and start stroking on the parts of the image that will have to appear on the foreground.
    3.    Click on Zoom image   100% in the tools bar, to go back to the original dimensions.
