Rollout - Texture Mapping

Texture Mapping is a tool that will allow you to set the way an image will be “wrapped” around a 3D object.

Planar
A Plane Mapping will be applied. This kind of mapping is useful when applied to planes and to surfaces that are facing the camera.
Cubic
A cubic mapping will be applied. This technique is useful to map walls of a building, or complex organic objects.

Cylindrical
A cylindrical mapping will be applied. This technique is useful when mapping cylindrical objects such as columns, bottles and any other object in a cylindrical shape.
Spherical
A Spherical mapping will be applied. This technique is useful to map spherical objects such as balls, faces etc.

Only selected part
Activating this option, mapping will apply only to the selected part of the object.
Deactivating this option, mapping will apply to the whole object. See how the software divides a 3D object into parts

Generate Mapping
Generate mapping on the selected surface.

PROCEEDING: to map an object
Select object, select from the rollout on the right of the "Map Texture", interface, select Cubic, click on “Create Mapping” to apply mapping.

PROCEEDING: interactive mapping
Clicking with the LEFT button of the mouse, you can select the yellow manipulator and modify it with the rotation tool
for an interactive texture mapping. At any time, you can click on “Create Mapping” to see the results.
